Not any science in this one, beyond the unaddressed questions of how light interacts with solid objects to illuminate or cast shadows. This abstract shot was taken on a trip to Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park in southern Utah. The sun was going down and the already gorgeous shapes and patterns on the sand were beginning to take on interesting abstract appearances.
I’ll leave it to you to decide if the photograph is of a hump or a hollow. I think the photo is beautiful regardless of which it is. Enjoy.
I took this photo with my Canon 28-135 mm f/3.5-5.6 lens zoomed to 135 mm on my Canon 5D Mk. III. The exposure was set to 1/125 sec. at f/8.0 and ISO 200.
