While exploring the edges of the Missouri River between Omaha, Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa on a cold, windy, and sunny March afternoon I started noticing shapes and shadows cast by various structures and objects in the landscape. One of these was the pattern of the steel structure of a bridge connecting the Omaha convention center to a nearby park along the Missouri.
The converging shadow lines and the rectangular structure of the bridge perfectly framed one of the large red umbrellas that were located at several spots along the length of the bridge. I desaturated all of the colors except red to emphasize the umbrellas.
